Setback

Well, what a difference a week can make. Was all up to date with training, and had highlighted my weaknesses, then what goes and happens - only got admitted into hospital on Monday with bad asthma attack, to have further attack on Tuesday too! Had had a cough, which went worse, went to Dr's on Monday morning after work, and had bad attack in the surgery. Trust me, if yo9u are going to have an attack, where you can't breath, then have one at the doctors. No better place to be really, and it was as tho that is where I was meant to be.
Admitted straight to hospital, further attack Tuesday, but improved. Was on continuous oxygen and nebuliser's, pumped with steroids and antibiotics.
Shed lots of tears, felt very sorry for myself, felt very vulnerable, very frightened, felt a failure felt like all my work was in vain. Good news tho.........consultant says if I am a good girl, then there is no reason why I cant carry on!
So, for perhaps the first time ever, this lady is doing as she is told, resting as directed, taking medication and not working! You ever heard the like........ Well, there is a first for everything you know!!!!!
Watch this space, I will not be held back for long! Fingers crossed I can make up the time!

Training Update

On holiday in Gisburn at the moment, a great place to find walks and not get interrupted.
Met the Clitheroe local Ramblers group on Tues, and enjoyed a lovely 8 mile walk with them, starting from Sabden round Pendle Hill. It's surprising how many routes there are on that hill.
Today I decided to try out the new gadget, the new GPS. and set off on the Gisburn Circular. Managed to walk for ten miles and not get lost, so not bad.
Need to step up the training I think time is the issue tho, I really need to do more back to back walks. Next time I can do more serious walking is on the 11th April, so will have to settle for the gym meanwhile, which, sadly not been to for a week. I was struggling with really bad cold and working too. Not to worry. sure all will be fine, me just worrying. Time getting nearer. The good news is I have now got all the gear I need, and have sorted out the sock issue. Stick to what you know is my motto.
